Most of the costs are ones you already carry (rent, staff, marketing), so the model leaves them out. The chamber itself adds about $2.00 of electricity per session and roughly $400 a year in upkeep; delivery, installation, and team training are already in the price.

Against that sits revenue: every seat, every session, at your price. At realistic utilization the model repays the chamber in months, and a steel chamber keeps earning for 20–30+ years after. For US businesses, Section 179 may let you expense the purchase in year one; ask your tax professional.

What's behind the numbers

Chamber prices

Live Superhuman lineup: from the $15,000 S1 up to the four-person $169,000 T4. Delivery, installation, and training all included.

Electricity

Defaults to $2.00 of power per session, and it's editable. Runs on a standard outlet; no plumbing or special construction.

Maintenance

Defaults to $400/yr: filters ($200–300) plus a small service buffer. No oxygen to refill on our air-pressurized chambers.

Existing overhead

Operator ROI counts only the chamber's own electricity. Rent, staff, and marketing are costs you already carry, so they're left out.

About this calculator

How does the cost-of-ownership calculator work?

It adds the chamber price to its running cost (electricity per session plus annual maintenance) across your chosen horizon, then divides by the total number of sessions to give an all-in cost per session. It also compares that total with paying the same number of sessions at a clinic rate you set.

How is the payback period calculated?

Operator ROI estimates monthly revenue (sessions × clients × your price) minus the chamber's monthly operating cost (its electricity), then divides the chamber price by that monthly net profit to estimate how many months it takes to recoup the purchase. It counts only the chamber's own running cost; rent, staff, and other overhead you already carry are excluded. Figures are illustrative and depend on utilization, pricing, and electricity rates.

Are these numbers guaranteed?

No. Every figure is an illustrative estimate to help you plan. Actual costs and revenue vary by usage, location, utility rates, session pricing, staffing, and service model. For business-tax treatment, consult a licensed tax professional.

Which inputs move the result most?

In cost-of-ownership mode: sessions per week. The chamber price is fixed, so every extra session lowers the cost of all of them. In operator mode: utilization (sessions per day × days open) and your price per client.

Why does the operator tab only show hard-shell models?

A commercial chamber runs many sessions a day for years, which calls for 2.0 ATA pressure, a 20–30+ year steel shell, and CE / ISO 13485 certification. Soft-shell units are not built for that duty cycle, so the ROI model excludes them.

Is anything I enter saved or sent anywhere?
